w-2 Form Changes v. 18
You must be running Gemini version 18.01 or higher in order to print 2007 W2 forms due to IRS form changes. If you are running version 17 or lower please give us a call or e-mail us to receive a quote on upgrading.
1099 Form Changes v. 16
You must be running version 16 or higher to print 1099 Forms.
Order 2007 Tax Forms Now!
If you haven’t already ordered your 2007 1099, W2, 1096, and/or W3 Forms, please do so as soon as possible. Neither form will print correctly using the old DOS ProCAP program.
The Tax Order Form is available from the main menu on our website under Support. All tax form orders must be prepaid and received by us no later than December 14, 2007 to assure timely delivery to you.
Check Orders
If you FAX a check order to us and we aren’t expecting it, please follow up with a call to Kathy at ext 302. You can e-mail check orders to us at either kathy@prosoftinc.com or skip@prosoftinc.com. Order confirmation will be via return e-mail.

Program Upgrades
We recommend you check for updates to your program at least every four to six weeks (you will need access to the internet). Updating is critical for Gemini users with the Payroll module. See “Help | Check for Updates” within the program.

Activities - 2007
Print Reports - Before you close December 2007, we recommend you print any end of year reports you feel are necessary.
Backup Company Data - Make at least two backups of each company’s data; one for on-site access and one for off-site.
Close December 2007 Accounting Period
If December is your fiscal year end, select GL | End-of-Month Closeout | Current Month AND End of Fiscal Year.
If December is NOT the end of your fiscal year, select GL | End-of-Month Closeout | Current Month Only.
Print 2007 Forms 1099/W2 - After December is closed, 1099 and W2 forms can be printed whenever you wish during CY2008. For those who have the Payroll module, 2007 Payroll W2 information will not be available until the December 2007 accounting period is closed. For your convenience, a FAQ sheet dealing with the most common questions and problems encountered in printing 1099 and W2 forms is available on our website, www.prosoftinc.com.
Gemini Payroll Users - Be sure to update 2008 federal and/or state tax tables and rates information before calculating your first 2008 payroll. We will put it on our web site as soon as it is available to us from the IRS--usually between early and mid-December.
If you’ve upgraded to the newest version 18, you will be able to download a special payroll file from our website, save it in the Gemini folder, and then “link” to it through Payroll to update your Federal tax tables and rates information.
For those of you who either haven’t upgraded and/or don’t have access to the internet through your accounting computer, federal tax tables and rates update information will also be available on our web site in document form.
